What a past.... a wonderful talking point and something you will most definitely struggle to find on the High Street.The Malt House Natural is effectively half of a solid oak barrel. The cabinet has an inner shelf made from a retired Scotch whisky barrel lid.The ‘Natural’ version of the Malt House has a lighter tone on the outer staves. The staves have been stripped of the tannin the barrel accumulated over the decades making its appearance similar to when it was first made. The Natural version allows the barrel to have a more even tone and provides a different option when it comes to matching your decor.It stores around two dozen bottles. It's slimline design makes this a very popular item as it fits comfortably in most homes .... or even a bar type establishment. It is suited to almost every room, from hallway to living room.The integrated wine glass holder stores around 5 small to medium sized wine glasses. There is also a distressed brass bottle opener.We sympathetically restore our barrels, taking extra care to ensure they retain all their original character and rustic appeal. The oak on the inside is stunning. It is charred from when the barrels were first ‘toasted’ and oozes rustic appeal.The Malt House Natural comes with a FREE tealight holder made from a retired oak stave. Tone and patterns within the oak and slight variations on dimensions are typical. Shipping to Scotland and elsewhere can be arranged however additional shipping costs are likely. Shipping is Mon - Fri and will require someone to be present to accept the door step delivery. As this is a timber product it is susceptible to the effects of moisture. This could result in minor gapping between the barrel staves depending on conditions within your home.The barrel bars are not suitable to be stored / used in areas of excessive heat such as by radiators, wood burning stoves and in warm conservatory’s and summer houses. High temperatures can cause the staves to loose too much moisture and shrink. We advise a suitable floor protection, especially if this was to go onto a solid wood floor, order to avoid scuffing.- we suggest suitable floor protection is used (felt pads etc) to prevent scuffs and scratches to hard floors and also a mat to protect carpets from possible marks.
