THE COOPERAGE, a slightly different version from the original ‘Malt House’.
A fabulous mini bar / drinks cabinet / bottle storage cabinet made from a retired Scotch Whisky barrel. These barrels most likely originate from the bourbon rich area of Kentucky or Tennessee, USA and later used in the Scotch whisky industry. What a past.... a wonderful talking point and something you will most definitely struggle to find on the High Street.
The Cooperage is effectively half of a solid oak barrel. The cabinet has an inner shelf made from a retired Scotch whisky barrel lid which extends further than the than the cabinet offering the perfect location to display your extra special bottles. The inner shelf is finished with a metal rim made from part of a reclaimed barrel hoop. The metal is subtly refurbed leaving a slight rustic look and may have slight rust remains present.
It stores around two dozen bottles. It's slimline design makes this a very popular item as it fits comfortably in most homes .... or even a bar type establishment. It is suited to almost every room, from hallway to living room.
The integrated brass wine glass holder stores around 5 small to medium sized wine glasses. There is also a distressed brass bottle opener.
We sympathetically restore our barrels, taking extra care to ensure they retain all their original character and rustic appeal. The oak on the inside is stunning. It is charred from when the barrels were first ‘toasted’ and oozes rustic appeal. The outside of The Malt House has all the character you would expect to see from a barrel with decades of service.
The Cooperage comes with a FREE tealight holder made from a retired oak stave. It offers a lovely mood light setting.
IMPORTANT:
The photographs provided are of recent Cooperage bars. Each piece varies as every barrel has subtle differences. That’s the beauty of it! Tone and patterns within the oak and slight variations on dimensions are typical. Slight undulating surfaces can be common with oak barrels due to whisky exposure.

Important:
Shipping is to the English mainland only due to this requiring palletised delivery. Shipping to Scotland and elsewhere can be arranged however additional shipping costs are likely. Shipping is Mon - Fri and will require a signature. This item is not suitable for ‘click and collect’.
As this is a timber product it is susceptible to the effects of moisture. This could result in minor gapping between the barrel staves depending on conditions within your home.
We advise a suitable floor protection, especially if this was to go onto a solid wood floor, order to avoid scuffing.
